Pharma: Rondol 10mm Extrusion Line installed at Evonik, Darmstadt

Smaller machines are often necessary not only to minimise financial risk but also because very small quantities of high value active material are likely to be available in early stages of projects and minimisation of wastage is a key consideration.
 
Locating a partner with both technical knowledge and test resources was critical to Evonik allowing them to produce advanced prototypes and small scale manufacturing runs.

Victoire de Margerie, Chairman of Rondol Technology states: “The Rondol  capability to provide Evonik with leading edge design and test facilities at the newly established Rondol technical centre made Rondol a credible partner”.

The resultant equipment based on the Rondol 10mm twin screw compounding extruder was built to good manufacturing practice (GMP) and installed at Evonik Pharma Polymers in Darmstadt in March.

There will be a unique opportunity to view this equipment in action at the 4th International Hot Melt Extrusion  Symposium at Darmstadt on November 9-10 this year when papers will also be presented by Rondol Technology delegates.
